Spirometry Workflow and Integration
This workflow is designed for CMA/Ma roles but can be impactful to Providers, CMRN's, CHW's, and CCM's.
Spirometry Workflow
Athena to Hillrom Process
- Select spirometry testing* under Point of Care Tests
2. After signing the POC order, come back to the patient’s main chart by clicking their name. Select spirometry testing* under the Outstanding Orders menu
3. To open the Hillrom app, select Perform Test. Athena will then automatically open Hillrom.
4. Log into the Hillrom App
5. Username: admin - Password: admin
6. Calibration must be done each day
7. Lot code needs to match transducers you will be using
8. Syringe plunger must be extended before starting calibration
9. Successful calibration will result in a full circle
10. After calibration is completed, or if it is not needed, Hillrom will direct you to the patient information. Patient information should autofill from Athena. Once verified, select Next>
11. During testing, select record, program will find device, perform test, and then select record again

button to integrate test into Athena
Welch Allyn - Spirometry Settings
These parameter settings should be done on each device. Once saved, it does not need to be done again.
- To change Welch Allyn settings, log in to the program and select the gears in the bottom right corner.
2. Select Modality Settings
3. Change to Spirometry
4. Select Parameters
5. Select Printer on FEV1/FVC, then save your changes
