EKG/ECG Workflow and Integration

This workflow is primarily designed for CMA/MA but may be helpful for Providers, CMRN's, CHW's, and CCM's.

ECG Workflow

Place order in Athena via exam or order group
Select electrocardiogram under point of care orders

3. After signing the POC order, come back to the patient’s main chart by clicking their name. Select electrocardiogram under the Outstanding Orders menu

4. Select Perform Test and this will automatically open the Hillrom app

5. Log into the Hillrom app

6. Username: admin

7. Password: admin

8. Preform test and select ECG to capture results

9. Select

to save ECG to Athena Chart

10. Select OK when Athena asks, “Would you like to include this as the final result in the patient’s chart?”

11. Completed ECG will flow into ordering providers bucket for review

Note: In Athena, there is an image view report and an interpretation report. The interpretation report can be deleted or closed.
